The Alsace Route du Vin
9 Day Cycle Tour
‘One Night Stops’ 6 Day
Pedalling along the pretty lanes that meander through vineyards and fields of sunflowers along the famous Alsace wine road will work up an appetite for the region’s distinctive cuisine and a thirst for some of the world’s finest wines. Fortunately, Michelin-starred restaurants and rustic wine bars are en route.
From sun-drenched vineyards and grands crus villages to emerald green valleys, shady green forests and crystal-clear streams, this is an intoxicating journey of the senses.
Highlights will include:
- Route du Vin - the tour loosely follows the Alsace Wine Road linking the region’s many fine producers
- Obernai - a quintessential Alsatian town with narrow streets and colourful timbered buildings
- Châteaux Haut-Koenigsbourg - a breathtaking castle perched on a hilltop above the Alsace plain
- Ribeauvillé and Riquewihr - neighbouring villages famed equally for their medieval grandeur and their Grands Crus Wines
- Kaysersberg - picturesque village and birthplace of Albert Schweitzer
- Colmar - a vibrant, wonderfully preserved city: the beating heart of the Alsace
Local Weather
This was a lovely holiday enjoyed by parents and children alike. The customer service was very good from first enquires to our return trip home. The organisation of the holiday e.g. tickets, bikes, routes, hotels etc was excellent. Overall this holiday was a great success and we are busy spreading the word and planning another….!
